Quality Control during construction of floating concrete hulls

Hywind Tampen

RaKon is proud to be part of the construction of Hywind Tampen, where we contribute to a high-quality result and a safe execution. We happily share our solid competence and experience with concrete constructures in maritime environments.

Equinor’s Hywind Tampen is an innovative offshore wind project, including 11 wind turbines installed on floating concrete hulls. The project is ground-breaking in more than one area. It becomes the world largest floating offshore wind farm and the first to be deliver power to an oil and gas field.

Aker Solutions (Aker, formerly Kværner) is awarded a large contract including the construction and installation of foundations. The scope covers engineering, procurement, and construction of the foundations, as well as marine operations. RaKon assists Aker with parts of the quality control and documentation production, to ensure that quality and documentation are in accordance with requirements. The construction of the foundation started in January 2021 at Stord, in Norway. At Stord the first 20 meter of the foundations were built in a dry dock. The 20m high foundations where towed to Dommersnes in April the same year, where the construction will continue with slip casting, to a final foundation height of 107,5 meters.
