Hired out senior engineer for integrated project organisation (Statoil, Kværner and Aker Engineering) related to development of heating of gas pies by means of induction. Our area of responsibility was to develop equipment for cutting of grooves in the concrete weight coating. The work was performed in 1995.

Hired out senior engineer to verification team related to engineering performed by Ove Arup on upgrading of the Brent field. The work was performed in 1994.

 
Hired out senior engineer for task force group to develop materials, methods and equipment for embedding and stabilising the gas pipes in the Europipe tunnel in Germany.

The total amount of grout was 14 000 m3. The work was performed in 1994 and 1995.

Hired out senior engineer for development of methods, equipment and materials for injection/sealing of oil leaks at a depth of 230 m on the Draugen platform including site management of the injection/sealing performance. The injection was performed by means of ROVs.

The work was performed in 1994 and 1995.

Hired out senior engineer for development of inspection programs for the Statfjord platforms, the Gullfaks platforms and the Draugen platform on behalf of Norwegian Contractors. 1993

Hired out senior engineer for engineering and site management of concrete repairs on the Ekofisk Tank in 1992.

Hired out senior engineer for site management in connection with embedding parts of the ballast water system on Statfjord A in concrete. The task included evaluation and development of methods, equipment and materials and management of the performance of the work. The work was carried out in 1991 and 1992.

Periodical inspection of concrete structures above water on Oseberg A from 1996 to 2007.

Installation of Cathodic Protection of the upper part of the concrete shafts of Oseberg A for Norsk Hydro. A 4-year contract starting in 2002 and completed in 2006.

Installed epoxy membrane on concrete shafts on Troll B. The work was started in 1998 and completed in year 2000.

Inspection and rehabilitation of concrete on Oseberg A and Troll B in 1997 and 1998. Including installation of cathodic protection of reinforcement in concrete above water.

Phillips Petroleum Company Norway


Study for Piece Small Removal of topside structures on Ekofisk 2/4T for PPCoN from October 00 to June 01. Total man-hours approximately 5500.

Engineering study for Phillips Petroleum Company on removal and disposal of the Ekofisk Tank and its Protective Barrier Wall including:

  • Evaluation and recommendation of method for removal, disposal and eventual onshore deconstruction of the concrete structures
  • Structural analysis
  • Removal of topside
  • Removal and disposal of sediments from the oil compartments and cleaning of the interior walls
  • Risk assessment
  • Personnel safety
  • Time scheduling
  • Cost estimates

The work started in August 1997 and was completed in December 1999. The engineering man-hours on the project has been 15 000. RaKon as has for this project amongst others engaged specialist engineers from Det Norske Veritas, Scandpower and Norconsult.

Preparation of guidelines for monitoring the Ekofisk Tank including long time inspection program. The work was performed in 1997.

Miscellaneous Clients


Responsible for periodic inspection of concrete structures above water on Draugen and Ormen Lange, Aukra, as subcontractor to MainTech. The contract was awarded in 2007 with a duration of 5 years + evt options.

Design and installation of cathodic protection system on "Pirbadet" in Trondheim in 1999/2000

Grouting of suction anchors for Stena Offshore on Yme in 1999

Engineering and performance of complicated grouting operation in Korea on the Siri platform. The work was performed in 1998. The client was Kværner Oil & Gas.

Participated in engineering team related to the landfall of the gas pipes from the Troll field on Kollsnes. Area of responsibility was:

  • Proportioning of concrete for casting at a depth of 200 m.
  • Preparation of equipment requirements and casting procedures
  • Engineering of contact injection between rock and concrete in the shafts
  • Engineering of contact injection between concrete and rock related to barriers in the tunnels
  • Preparation of specifications and procedures for embedding the riser package in lightweight concrete.
  • The work was performed in 1993 and 1994. The client was Reinertsen Engineering.
